Dr. Kjersten Heron is passionate about serving the people of the Mount Vernon community. Her parents began Division Street Dental with a vision of compassionate, quality care, with genuine relationships. She is honored to carry on their legacy and continue building meaningful relationships while holding herself to the highest of standards. With her patients in the driver’s seat, Dr. Heron believes in educating and empowering patients to make the best decisions for their oral health. She is right by their side to support them on every step of their journey.
Education and Expertise
Born and raised in Mount Vernon, Dr. Heron graduated from Mount Vernon High school. She attended Lewis & Clark College and Pacific Lutheran University where she earned her undergrad degree. Earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery, she completed her degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. She is passionate about expanding her knowledge and perfecting her skills with continuing education.

Home Life
At home she focuses on raising her two amazing daughters. Together they enjoy swimming, arts and crafts, dancing to Taylor Swift, and spending quality time with each other. When she gets time to herself, Dr. Heron loves gardening, throwing pottery, and hot yoga. And did we mention she loves purple? Anything purple!
Cheryl Gifford

Cheryl Gifford has been with Division Street Dental for over 20 years and has been working in the dental industry for over 45 years. She was born and raised in Mount Vernon. She is proud to have forged lifelong relationships with several patients over the years.

Sommer Bernard
Hygienist
Sommer Bernard grew up in Sudden Valley outside of Bellingham and has lived in the Skagit Valley since the end of 2019. She has been working in the dental field since 2015. She enjoys playing guitar, writing music, traveling, and surfing. Sommer is fluent in English and Spanish.

Chelsea Otto
Chairside Assistant & Receptionist
Chelsea was born in Whitefish, MT and moved to the Skagit Valley in 2019 after spending some of her childhood in California. She began working in the dental industry in 2010. She enjoys playing pool, being outdoors, and caring for her cats and houseplants.
